Huizingen Provincial Domain

What is it?

The Huizingen Provincial Domain is a former chateau and grounds with rowing pond, playgrounds, outdoor swimming pool, large forest, unique rock garden, zoo and sports pitches. This domain is just a few kilometres south of Brussels, close to the provincial youth hostel Hanenbos.
Maximum capacity swimming pool: 3.500 visitors.

Identification

Don’t forget your proof of identity (identity card or passport)!
We can refuse you access to the provincial domain and the swimming pool if you refuse to show us your proof of identity.

  • The provincial domain is open year-round
    • January and February from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • March from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
    • April through September 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
    • October from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
    • November and December from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • The attractions in the provincial domain are open from April 1 to September 30.
    • Monday through Friday from 11 to 6 p.m.
    • Saturday and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.

  • The swimming pool is open from 1 May to 15 September
    • Every day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Exceptionally closed on 21 May 2019 due to the annual training of the life guards.
    • Required swimsuits
      • Men: swim briefs
      • Women: one-piece or bikini
      • Forbidden: long shorts or Bermuda shorts

Barbecuing or cooking on fire is prohibited for safety reasons in the Provincial Domain.

  • Access to the provincial domain is fee-based from April 1 to September 30.
